The travel agent that saves you money!

If you want to save money on travel so you can travel more, then I’m the perfect travel agent for you. I’ve been traveling constantly for over a decade. I booked everything myself. I thought travel agents went out with answering machines and VCRs. Unless you were planning a destination wedding with a big group, I just didn’t see the reason for a travel agent. I retired in 2021 and I knew I didn’t just want to sit around all day. I wanted to help people travel more and I wanted to support more charities (I actually created a charity many years ago). I started a Facebook group, Travel Better, Travel More to help people learn about deals and tips. While I helped a lot of people, I knew I could do more.

I decided to become a travel agent so that I can help people save even more money. I quickly learned that I can get access to a lot of websites and information that the general public could not access. As a result, I’ve been able to help people save money on cruises, hotels and vacation packages. What’s even better is that I can use all of my commissions (after expenses) to support various charities such as the Red Cross, animal welfare organizations, wildlife conservation and cancer research (in memory of friends and loved ones).

Why don’t all travel agents do this?

Travel agents don’t make a lot of money off of the average trip. A $1500 cruise might only result in $50 going to the agent and that’s before taxes! When you factor in all the time and effort that goes into researching the trip, booking it and following up afterwards, it is the equivalent of minimum wage. If you were to try to support yourself on wages like this, you wouldn’t be too focused on booking your clients cheap deals either. Instead, you’d focus on expensive trips and big groups. Can’t fault any of that. Since it makes no difference to me if my commission is $20 or $500, I can focus on getting you the absolute best deal. Not only do travel agents like me charge no up front fees, the travel companies pay us so there is no cost to you at all!

What else does a travel agent do?

Besides getting you great deals, we can provide expert advice. I travel all the time and I’m always focused on learning about new destinations and travel trends. I want to make sure that my clients have the absolute best experience possible. Travel agents also have to go through a ton of training. This provides us with a the knowledge we need to help you build the best trip possible. It also helps me learn even more ways to save you money. I can also help you solve problems. Things happen when you travel and nothing is worse than calling customer service only to hear that you’ll be on hold for hours. As a travel agent, I have access to special phone numbers that can get someone on the phone quickly so your issue can be fixed right away. That piece of mind is priceless.
